IN RECENT YEARS, PALLADIUM CATALYZED C-C BOUND FORMATION HAS BEEN EVOLVED INTO A GENERAL TECHNIQUE FOR COUPLING DIFFERENT SUBSTRATES UNDER VARIOUS CONDITIONS. ON THE OTHER HAND, CYCLOPALLADATED COMPLEXES AS AN IMPORTANT MATERIAL IN INORGANIC CHEMISTRY PLAY IMPORTANT ROLE IN DIVERSE FIELDS OF STUDY ESPECIALLY IN COUPLING REACTIONS [1, 2]. HOMOGENEOUS PALLADIUM NANO CATALYST HAVE HIGHER REACTION RATE THAN HETEROGENEOUS BUT THERE ARE SOME PROBLEMS CONCERNING WITH THESE CATALYST SUCH AS NEED OF HIGH PRICE LIGANDS, SEPARATION FROM REACTION MIXTURE AND REUSE OF EXPENSIVE METAL CATALYST.IN THIS STUDY A PVP-SUPPORTED PALLADIUM NANO-CATALYST IS PREPARED AND CHARACTERIZED BY SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY (SEM), TRANSITION ELECTRON MICROSCOPY (TEM) AND X-RAY DIFFRACTION (XRD) TECHNIQUES. PALLADIUM NANOPARTICLES SUPPORTED ON PVP WAS USED AS AN EFFICIENT CATALYST IN THE SUZUKI CROSS-COUPLING REACTIONS OF PHENYL BRONIC ACID WITH ARYL HALIDES (SCHEME 1). OPTIMUM CONDITION FOR SUZUKI REACTION WAS EVALUATED BY VARIOUS TEMPERATURES, DURATION OF REACTION, AND KIND OF BASE, SOLVENT AND AMOUNT OF CATALYST. ALL REACTIONS WERE MONITORED BY GC AND GENERALLY GAVE HIGH YIELD OF COUPLED PRODUCTS.

چکیده: 

para-styrene sulfonyl chloride and (S) - (+) -alanine in the presence of KOH 1 M as a base, and CHCl3 was used as solvent. The formation/presence of monomer was verified using FT-IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. Polystyrene [N- (alanine) sulfonamide] (PASS) was also prepared from the polymerization of [N- (alanine)] para-styrene sulfonamide (ASS) in the presence of AIBN (azoisobutyronitrile) under atmosphere of nitrogen. Polystyrene [N- (alanine) sulfonamide] /palladium chloride as a polymer-supported palladium complex was also prepared from the reaction of PdCl2 (CH3CN) 2 with PASS in the presence of KOH 1 M. A green solid was consequently appeared. This catalyst was synthesized for the first time as a polymer-supported palladium and applied in Heck reactions.

IN RECENT YEARS, THE HECK AND SUZUKI REACTIONS HAVE FOUND WIDESPREAD APPLICATIONS IN SYNTHETIC ORGANIC CHEMISTRY AND MATERIALS SCIENCE [1]. THEIR POPULARITY STEMS IN PART FROM THEIR TOLERANCE OF MANY FUNCTIONAL GROUPS, WHICH ALLOWS THEM TO BE EMPLOYED IN THE SYNTHESIS OF HIGHLY COMPLEX MOLECULES [2]. THE PALLADIUM-CATALYZED SUZUKI AND HECK CROSS-COUPLING REACTIONS ARE POWERFUL TOOLS FOR THE PREPARATION, RESPECTIVELY, OF UNSYMMETRICAL BIARYL [3] AND STILBENE COMPOUNDS WHICH HAVE BEEN APPLIED TO MANY AREAS, INCLUDING HERBICIDES AND NATURAL PRODUCT SYNTHESIS [4]. IN THIS STUDY DENDRONIZED POLYSTYRENES WERE OBTAINED BY MODIFICATION OF POLY(STYRENE-CO-CHLOROMETHYLSTYRENE) PRECURSORS WITH LIC(SIME2CH=CH2)3 PALLADIUM WAS ATTACHED TO THE POLYMERS VIA COORDINATION TO VINYL GROUPS LOCATED ON CARBOSILANE MOIETIES AND USED IN SUZUKI CROSS-COUPLING REACTIONS. THE STRUCTURES OF ALL NEW COMPOUNDS HAVE BEEN ELUCIDATED BY A COMBINATION OF NMR SPECTROSCOPY, IR SPECTROSCOPY AND ELEMENTAL ANALYSIS.

The advancements in cross-coupling chemistry are a considerably powerful tool for the synthesis of pharmaceutical molecules. The formation of catalytic carbon-heteroatom (C-X) and carbon-carbon (C-C) bonds is one of the important reactions in organic synthesis, which plays a key role in the synthesis of biologically active molecules, natural products, heterocycles, and useful compounds. Recently, there has been a significant increase in the development and advancement of environmentally friendly catalysts that serve as a suitable alternative to conventional metal catalysts. On the other hand, N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHC)–metal-based catalysts became suitable for performing a wide range of chemical transformations due to their unique spatial and electronic properties. The NHCs have received much attention as ligands due to their important properties. The present review aimed to discuss the recent advances in the application of NHCs in cross-coupling chemistry in the last six years. The present study focused on the catalytic application of NHCs in various cross-coupling reactions, such as Suzuki, Heck, Sonogashira, Hiyama, Kumada, Buchwald–Hartwig, Ullmann, and Chan. Moreover, some cross-coupling reactions by selective C-X cleavage catalyzed by NHCs with high catalytic activity were discussed. In addition, several chiral NHCs capable of catalyzing asymmetric cross-coupling reactions were reported. Finally, numerous green protocols for cross-coupling reactions catalyzed by functional and biocompatible NHCs under mild conditions were investigated. These protocols had advantages such as high-yield products, short time, cost-effectiveness, and high catalytic activity.
